  • The guests were mortified at what they may have said on camera after a few too many champagnes! We would highly recommend Andrea and the team!

Andrea and Daniel – September 2010
  • Some of the lads were more excited than I was when they heard that they could control the camera! So glad we've got a cool, fun video to remember our day as opposed to a boring un-edited version.

Dylan and Joelle – August 2010
  • We submitted nearly 7 hours of footage which they had to trawl through (the poor things!) but the end result is perfect in our opinion.

Lizzy and John – October 2010
  • From the minute we contacted SIY we were convinced that this was the company for us! They were brilliant from start to finish and I'd even go as far as to say, it was the best part of our day.

Alev and Oli – November 2010
  • The best thing Nick ever did (apart from marrying me of course!) was stumbling over your website because our edited video was right up our street; chic, quirky, modern and fun.

Nick and Kate – November 2010
  • I’m am so glad a did a google search for a fun wedding video and found the fabulous 'shoot it yourself.' The end result was totally amazing!

Michelle and Phil – May 2010
  • Thanks soooo much for putting together such a great wedding DVD for us. Jenny came round and we were crying with laughter at it, it gets funnier the more you watch it too!

Jo and Cameron – June 2010

We know that the concept of filming your own wedding is TOTALLY new and you will generally have LOADS of questions about how it all works. We've tried to answer all of your most common questions here but if you do have any others, please get in touch.

Will you edit my wedding tapes without hiring the camcorders? What if the camcorders get broken at the wedding? Are we insured? Do the cameras have to be sent to my house or can they go to a hotel? What if the cameras don't turn up? How long will it take before I get my wedding DVD? How much does it cost? What if the footage is terrible? What if we have a problem with the camcorder on the day? How do we make a booking? How many copies do we get? What are the technical specs? Am I allowed to use any music that I like? Don't you have to worry about music licensing?

Will you edit my wedding tapes without hiring the camcorders?

No. The SIY package includes one to one tuition on how to shoot the wedding day and an easy to follow 'personalised shot list' based on our experience in making TV programmes. You are paying for our industry expertise, which is the difference between an average wedding video and an awesome wedding video! You are also paying for the hire of our professional quality, high definition Sony a1e camcorders which are extremely light and user friendly but able to deliver a quality that home videocameras can't.

What if the camcorders get broken at the wedding? Are we insured?

The cameras are insured by us in case of theft or damage. However there is a £250 excess, which is payable by you, should we have to make a claim.

Do the cameras have to be sent to my house or can they go to a hotel?

So long as we have clear delivery instructions, we can deliver the cameras to a hotel room, best man's house or gran's, so long as there is someone there to sign for them who is going to be responsible for them!

What if the cameras don't turn up?

The cameras are sent by Interparcel and are guaranteed to be delivered by 12 noon the day before your wedding. In the unlikely event that the cameras fail to turn up, we have 10 cameras at our disposal and in the worse case scenario, we can courier another kit to you.

How long will it take before I get my wedding DVD?

Depending on demand, it could take up to 6 - 8 weeks before you get the finished DVD. In most cases, we try and make sure that you get them back before 4 weeks but in the summer months we can be very busy and don't want to make any promises!

What if the footage is terrible?

So long as the camcorders are assigned to someone who is responsible and wants the job of filming - the footage won't be terrible! We're confident that even with a very limited understanding of cameras, we can show people how to shoot your wedding video to make it fun, not just to watch but for those filming it too. Its not as difficult as people would have you believe! However, it is your responsibility to make sure your camera buddy takes their role seriously - if they don't film it, we can't edit it!

What if we have a problem with the camcorder on the day?

All of our kits are tested and the batteries fully charged before they are sent out. If you do have any problems remembering how to load the tape or set up the tripod, we're contactable on the day of the wedding on our emergency mobile number - don't panic, help is always at hand!

How do we make a booking?

In order to secure a booking, send us an email to check that we have availability for your date. We ask for 50% of the total cost of the package up front and the remaining 50% two weeks prior to the wedding date either by BACs or cheque.

What influence do we have over the finished DVD?

Your ideas are everything and the more ideas you have for how you would like it to look, the better! We will also consult with you during the edit process if something isn't working or if the music choice doesn't quite fit.

How many copies do we get?

We will send you four copies of the finished wedding DVD in the post and additional DVDs are charged at £15 each. We will also upload your videos onto Vimeo, a video hosting website, where your friends and family will not only be able to watch them, but DOWNLOAD them too. The files will be downloaded as an MP4 file, which you can then upload to Facebook and begin tagging!

    What are the technical specs?

The cameras are Sony MC50 high definition camcorders. We edit the DVDs using Apple Mac Final Cut Pro, which is a state of the art, post production software used in broadcast. Nothing beats it!

Am I allowed to use any music that I like? Don't you have to worry about music licensing?

We have to buy a Limited Manufacture License for each wedding that we edit from the PRS for Music. This licence grants us 'blanket' permission to legally use any music any music in our DVDs so the sky's the limit!
