Newly Wed Survey

Before investing our heart and soul into Shoot It Yourself, let alone all of our life savings and giving up our TV careers, we asked 50 of our married friends and extended friends of friends what they thought of our idea!

The best advice is always in hindsight so we posted a short survey online and fortunately, the results were exactly what we had hoped for.

Those people who didn't get any wedding video footage, wished they had:

“It is my biggest regret that I don't have any footage of the speeches. They were excellent and I don't remember them.”

“We just relied on pictures. It was probably a mistake.”

Those who did get someone to film it for them were a bit disappointed:

“We had a friends father video our day as a present but it is bad quality. We also had a friend use our own camera to capture some of the day which is OK but we've never got round to editing it – we wouldn't know where to start!”

And those who hired a videographer wished they had a Shoot It Yourself Wedding Video:

“We would advise other couples to think outside the box a bit and not pay extortionate amounts of money for a wedding video that lacks imagination and fun! It needs to represent the couple really and a lot of wedding videos miss that completely.”
