Wedding In France

Today's wedding video of the week is very close to my heart. The bride, Naomi, is a good friend from my old TV days and she also filmed most of my wedding video over 8 years ago. This was my chance to repay the favour and I was determined to make the most awesome wedding video ever!

I asked her if she would be willing to write a few words for our blog and the email that she sent back is one of the nicest reviews we've ever had so I thought I'd include it here in full:

"I met Andrea 12 years ago on a shoot in Shropshire when we were both working in television together. A few years later, I was honoured when Andrea asked me to film her epic wedding in Portugal - a whole weekend of sunshine, smiles and silliness. I felt so chuffed to have been involved in capturing their amazing wedding and totally inspired by a foreign wedding fun too! It was the very start of Shoot It Yourself and I knew she was on to an absolute winning business idea. Now I just needed to find a husband..."

"Jump to 8 years later, having found my perfect Frenchman, Nico, it was time to trade places with Andrea. With her incredibly successful company now flourishing, Andrea very kindly offered to film our wedding in the beautiful Dordogne in the south of France last spring."

"Andrea and her lovely husband Johnny managed to cover all aspects of the prep and day, many hilarious moments captured, gorgeous messages from loved ones, they even developed a storyline (Nico losing things) as well as capturing all the emotion (yes I cried a lot) and messy fun of the party late into the night. They didn't miss a thing and having this video means we can properly re-live the whole day."

"The finished video is absolutely brilliant and has exceeded all our expectations! I work in television so I'm pretty fussy and can tell you it is so professional, very well edited, the music is mixed seamlessly, we are really really impressed. We cried and laughed (good tears) all the way through and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be watching it everyday for years to come."

"I know a lot of people may choose a wedding photographer over video when juggling difficult wedding budgets but photos will never capture the atmosphere, and funny, touching emotional moments in the way a video does. Shoot It Yourself is an incredibly slick operation and the finished product is so professional, it craps on other (more expensive) options out there. Plus the personal feel of your loved ones filming your wedding gives a personal touch the traditional videos totally fail to have."
